Eddy Travels is one of the early customers of Impala’s hotel booking platform. It’s an ingenious artificial intelligence travel assistant that makes planning and booking a holiday blissfully simple. Travellers connect through their chosen chat app, and within seconds they have access to all the best travel deals out there.

The team at Eddy Travels have developed an advanced natural language processing system that works through popular apps such as Facebook Messenger, WhatsApp, Telegram and Slack. This clever digital assistant integrates offers from leading travel companies like Skyscanner, to provide personalized suggestions for flights, accommodation and other travel-related services. And it’s all as easy as messaging a friend to arrange a get together on the weekend.

The company was quick to adapt to the Coronavirus pandemic and introduced a feature to help ease the situation for those booking travel. From within the chat, travellers can instantly access up-to-date COVID risk levels for any given destination.

Eddy Travels’ latest feature has transformed the group booking process, from logistical nightmare to enjoyable experience. It allows you to invite friends into a group conversation where you can collectively talk to the travel assistant and discuss options. When you need a travel suggestion you simply tag @Eddy in the chat, and all the results will be right there for everyone to see. It’s the first truly collaborative group travel booking appand as well as being efficient, it’s fun to use and gets everyone excited for the trip.

This lot are set for big things. Founded by a group of Lithuanians living in Canada in 2018, they already have over 2.5 million users worldwide. They won the ‘Startup of the Year’ award, and have been recognized as one of the best startup brands in the Baltics. They’re backed by Practica Capital, Open Circle, Techstars Toronto, Angel Investors and they recently secured a pre-seed investment of 1.1€ million.
